Lucky was a graduate of the Brent and Liz School of Dog Obedience.  He was very well behaved, some of it came naturally, but you do have to give a border collie a job.  Lucky's job at home was to watch cats.  At Sparkhaven his job was to fetch the stick regardless if it was in the water or on land.

Lucky loved to fetch a stick from the water. However, we all think it is just his way of cooling off.

Lucky did tear a tendon in his knee one day and did not come to Sparkhaven at all that year.  He was very confused when he was left home.  But later he came back to do his job.

In 2007 he seemed to have lost some of his hearing, perhaps the splash didn't seem so loud to him that year.

In 2008 Lucky developed arthritis.  He was able to jump in fine, but because the water weighed him down, he couldn't really climb out very well.  So he went into full retirement.  Later he had problems just standing and walking.
